Tank Designs

Just some tank design I've been playing around with, what i really want to do next is to crate one in Maya and play about with it. the designs here kept getting stranger, it was really just an experiment to break the existing tank frame and try to make something different, i did do a wheeled on which is the 7Th drawing, was interesting but I want to keep to the tracks for tanks thing not to completely break away from what makes a tank.

6Th tank

i might take this one thrver into development, its only a basic design at the moment but it has that shape that i wanted to make when i was talking about designing a mobile fortress, with powerstations on the rear on a type of balcony. the bottom part I will design with more detail and try to add more componants.

  1. Evening Darren,

Your designs are charateristically quirky and its good to see you posting more and moving things along. What I'd like from you now, however, is a kind of design summary: I want you to articulate the design rules of your world; what are you trying to accomplish? Just provide a brief overview of your game idea and the way in which the world of your game feeds into the design of the vehicles. Also, I'd like you to tell me what you intend to submit; for instance, will it be 1 fully resolved design that is animated and put into a scene - is it many designs? Give me an idea of what I can expect - and then provide a timetable for you/me in which you clearly outline the order of tasks and interim deadlines. It will be a useful exercise for you - and I can't yet quite gauge your progress.

More generally, I hope all is progressing well.

  2. Attention all CGAA 3rd Years - your major project interim crit is on Tuesday 27th April @ 10am in the baseroom. At this stage, you DON'T need to reiterate or present all the things your project could or might have been; simply present the creative evolution of the idea you've taken forward. However, your interim presentation should provide a clear and detailed timetable for the final five weeks of production.

You should use this presentation and critical forum to audit your progress so far and outline your intentions/workflow. You should use this opportunity to identify technical challenges and specific problems so that the appropriate advice can be given and any potential problems pre-empted and resolved.

Your presentations should be concise, professional and effective.

    Everyone MUST attend.

Hope all is going well - and I look forward to seeing you on the 27th.
